What we offer We offer a vegetable bag scheme delivering organic vegetables grown in the market garden at Trill Farm to various towns in the surrounding area. Each week a selection of produce grown by us (or supplemented with other local organic or agroecological producers during the winter/spring) will be delivered to your door. What will be in the bags? The produce will vary from week to week but will always include a bag of our mixed salad leaves as well as at least one bag/bunch of greens, the rest will be a selection of whatever is best at that time of year. You will get a good selection of what we have growing in the garden and hopefully won't get overloaded with too much of one thing. See below for an example of this weeks contents. Will it be available all year round? We run the veg bag scheme from end of April right through to the end of February. We stop between early March and end of April as this is the time when we have very little produce available, and what we can get in from other producers locally to us is very limited too. By the end of April we start to have spring onions, spring garlic, radish and greens from our polytunnels and can fill the veg bags again. Can you choose the contents of your veg bag? We do not offer preferences in the bags, but make sure that we vary the contents a much as possible - especially during summer when we have lots of different produce from the garden.
What are the order options? We offer a few different sized bags of mixed seasonal vegetables, and you can add on extra items like bread baked by the Old Dairy Kitchen (Friday collections only). We also recommend that you go to The Old Dairy Kitchen site for their amazing meals and deliveries.
The bags are made up of seasonal produce, and will be all from the organic market garden at Trill from June until around October time (other than potatoes). We will buy in other produce from our friends at Shillingford Organics and Southern Roots (non organic, agroecological producers) as well as Riverford and Bishops Farm to supplement our own produce during winter and spring.
